      <image:title>Home - Early Afternoon Sails</image:title>
<image:caption>12pm-2pm Early afternoon sails tend to be more low-key than late afternoon sails, with lighter winds and calmer waters. Your Thunderbird sailboat glides along peacefully to create an enjoyable and mellow daysail on these light breezes. This is a general pattern; conditions vary day to day. Your captain may offer to cancel or postpone the sail if there is no wind, or you can opt to bob around beautiful Port Townsend bay and take in the sights.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Late Afternoon Sails</image:title>
<image:caption>3pm-5pm Port Townsend breezes tend to pick up a bit in the afternoon, creating a faster and more exciting sailing trip. In the afternoon you are more likely to feel the boat heel (lean onto its side) as the boat sets into her groove and flies around the bay. Your captain may need to cancel the sail if there is too much wind, but this is rare, as stronger breezes rarely begin before 5pm.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Boats - Amenities</image:title>
<image:caption>The Thunderbird is a perfect day sailor for Port Townsend because they are light and fast. They can sail well in the smallest of breezes, but also handle the stronger turns of weather. They were technically built for this place. “T-Birds” have a large and deep cockpit for a vessel of their size, and are roomy enough to comfortably seat six people. All passengers are required to wear life jackets. We provide life jackets but you may bring your own if you prefer. There is a safe and secure location for backpacks and shopping bags below deck. We have a small marine camp toilet on board. No former boating experience is necessary. Sit back and enjoy your sail. Participate and take a turn on the helm if you like!</image:caption>
